Tatsuya Nagamine has passed away

It has been announced that Tatsuya Nagamine, the director of the first Dragon Ball Super movie Broly as well as Dragon Ball Super episodes 77-131 has passed away at the age of 53.

Nagamine’s family revealed that he died on August 20th and described him as “kind, warm, and caring, and was the best father and husband in the world”.

Nagamine worked on not just other TOEI anime like One Piece, Digimon and Precure, but also the short film Dr. Slump: Dr. Mashirito Abale-chan adapted from a one-shot by Akira Toriyama in 2007.

Dragon Ball Super Broly has received at least 19 dubs worldwide and was released in at least 111 countries, making it the second most widely released Dragon Ball movie only behind the most recent movie Super Hero.
