Yesterday (June 19th) LostTimeLord reported on the Kanzenshuu forums that the episodes of Dragon Ball Kai previously omitted from Disney+ in the UK have been added to the platform.
The two Dragon Ball Super movies, titled Broly and Super Hero were also added on the same day.
The Dragon Ball Super TV series was also added to Disney+ soon after Kai, so there is a lot of Dragon Ball content on the service for fans to enjoy.
A report has suggested that Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, which recently received a Hungarian dub may be receiving, at least a partial redub.
According to the report Piccolo’s original Hungarian voice actor Csaba Krisztián Csík may be returning to reprise his role as there was some misunderstanding about the assignment of dubbing roles, which has since been cleared by the platform (Canal+) and dubbing studio (Laborfilm).
Piccolo was due to be played by János Megyeri, who fans said did a good job but was not what they were used to.
It has been announced that Tatsuya Nagamine, the director of the first Dragon Ball Super movie Broly as well as Dragon Ball Super episodes 77-131 has passed away at the age of 53.
Nagamine’s family revealed that he died on August 20th and described him as “kind, warm, and caring, and was the best father and husband in the world”.
Nagamine worked on not just other TOEI anime like One Piece, Digimon and Precure, but also the short film Dr. Slump: Dr. Mashirito Abale-chan adapted from a one-shot by Akira Toriyama in 2007.
Dragon Ball Super Broly has received at least 19 dubs worldwide and was released in at least 111 countries, making it the second most widely released Dragon Ball movie only behind the most recent movie Super Hero.
From today the most recent Dragon Ball movie Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is now available to stream on another platform in Poland.
Canal+ is now offering the movie with Japanese and English audio options as well as new Polish subs to customers.
Curiously, the Polish dub, which was available during theatrical screenings as well as Amazon Prime and Crunchyroll is not being offered.
This is not the first instalment of the franchise to be available on the service as all 153 episodes of original Dragon Ball have also been on Canal+ for at least six months now.
It has been over two years since Dragon Ball Super : Super Hero premiered in Italy, but now native fans will be able to bring the latest film in the long running franchise home.
The 4K Ultra HD and Blu-Ray combo pack is released on January 27, 2025.
Plaion Pictures Italia-owned distributor Anime Factory previously released Dragon Ball Super : Broly and the Dragon Ball Super TV anime.
As their releases contain physical extras like art cards and episode guides this will surely be one for the collectors.
Netflix Japan has announced the recent Dragon Ball Super movies Broly and Super Hero will be dropping on September 15th and assured viewers more movies were coming.
Netflix added the entirety of original Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z to their service for Japanese fans in December 2016, with the increased availability of both series leading to the media recommending them as a way for viewers to learn the language.
In the UK and Ireland the 2013 and 2015 movies Battle of Gods and Resurrection ‘F‘ were added the following year and two years after that the smash hit Broly and Netflix said at one point they were working on adding them in France along with One Piece.
The TV anime have not been brought to any other territories as far as we’re aware, but at one point it seemed as if they would be coming to the Netherlands as the first 3 seasons of Dragon Ball Z were rated by the native classification system Kijkwijzer (the local equivalent to the UK’s BBFC), along with the aforementioned Resurrection F and Battle of Gods soon after. That said, to this date no Dutch fans have reported on any Dragon Ball content being available to stream in their country.
With these additions to Netflix Japan, every Dragon Ball movie to date will have been on the service. The original Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z movies were added when TOEI began to distribute their HD remaster.
As Netflix’s tweet suggests more Dragon Ball movies will be coming, it appears they left the platform in Japan but will be returning at some point.
