Tonight after the final episodes of original Dragon Ball dubbed for Cartoon Network India the channel will be airing the 2013 movie natively titled Battle of Gods between 10pm and 11:30pm.
The movie originally aired on November 3, 2024 dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
Cartoon Network India has announced that from today (March 16th) at 9pm from Monday-Friday they will be airing original Dragon Ball again.
This will mark the return of the 1986 anime after over a year’s hiatus.
It is unclear if this will be new episodes or a rerun of the 57 episodes that aired between August and November of 2024 that were dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
It is possible that it will be the latter followed by the former though, since Dragon Ball Super returned to Cartoon Network Pakistan with a rerun of the previously dubbed Urdu episodes before the channel continued from where they left off with new episodes.
Either way, original Dragon Ball seems to have had a more successful run on Cartoon Network India now than it did back in 2010 when only a few episodes aired in Hindi.
Dragon Ball content continues to arrive on streaming platforms in India.
The show is available in English as well as native languages Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
This is neither the first time these episodes have been available in India, nor the first time the five local dubs were released as they premiered on Cartoon Network India in June 2023.
Cartoon Network India and Discovery+ are both owned by Warner Brothers Discovery, so its not surprise they would be sharing assets.
For fans that want the original show with filler the corresponding episodes of Dragon Ball Z (branded as “Season 5”) are coming to Netflix on November 15th, although that will only be available in Japanese with English subtitles.
It’s official, the first 98 episodes of Dragon Ball Kai are once again available for Indians to watch.
Recently the portion of the show titled Dragon Ball Kai : The Final Chapters began a rerun on Cartoon Network, but not the earlier episodes.
The local Cartoon Network ran both the first 98 episodes of Kai and The Final Chapters between April 16th 2023 and November 12th of the same year.
Now fans have noted that Dragon Ball Kai has become available on Amazon’s streaming service Prime Video in India.
Like the Cartoon Network airings Dragon Ball Kai is available with five local dubs, but interestingly an English option is also available on Prime Video.
A Discovery subscription is needed, but it will mean the English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada dubs of Dragon Ball Kai will be brought to a wider Indian audience, particularly amongst fans that can now watch these dubs legally at any time.
Last November Dragon Ball Daima received three dubs in the native languages of India – Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
From that point a new episode was released weekly, and now all the episodes are available on Crunchyroll India.

Although Cartoon Network India has yet to air the series the channel has been giving fans a chance to catch up on older content.
From March 17th Dragon Ball Super began a rerun weekdays at 9pm, and as of March 23rd fans can catch reruns of Dragon Ball Kai: The Final Chapters Sundays from 1pm.
A promotional image has leaked recently that may hint at Dragon Ball Daima coming to the channel soon with not only dubs in the aforementioned three languages, but also Malayalam and Kannada.
In a recent social media post Cartoon Network India revealed that from this Sunday (March 23rd) Dragon Ball Kai : The Final Chapters will return to the channel at 1pm, the timeslot that’s been occupied by One Piece for several weeks now.
The finale to Dragon Ball Kai originally aired between August 19, 2023 and November 12th of the same year.
Of all the releases of Dragon Ball Kai : The Final Chapters internationally the Indian release stands as the release with the most localizations, as the series received 5 dubs in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
The show will be broadcast until 3:30pm:

Dragon Ball Daima will be receiving three dubs on Crunchyroll India from November 9th in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
Traditionally Dragon Ball has received dubs in the three regional languages.
Dragon Ball Z was dubbed in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu when it aired on Cartoon Network back in the early 2000s, original Dragon Ball was first dubbed in Hindi, and Dragon Ball Super : Super Hero received a Hindi dub for theatres.
More recently with Dragon Ball Super, Dragon Ball Kai, Dragon Ball Z movies 5-9, 12-14, both TV specials and original Dragon Ball (which re-premiered this year) all this content has aired on Cartoon Network with not only Hindi, Tamil and Telugu dubs, but also Malayalam and Kannada.
It is not known whether or not Dragon Ball Daima will also air on Cartoon Network and if it will receive dubs in the other two regional languages.
These dubs are the only officially announced international dubs of Dragon Ball Daima so far, other than the English dub, which is set to debut in North American theatres from November 10th.
Since its premier TOEI Animation’s new show Dragon Ball Daima has been streaming in numerous countries, but despite this massive push internationally it has been quiet in the dubs department.
However just yesterday two Instagram accounts, which have revealed much casting info on the local Cartoon Network’s recent dubs of original Dragon Ball and other Hindi dubbed anime have posted the following:
Interestingly of all the recent Indian Dragon Ball dubs this would mark the first since Dragon Ball Super : Super Hero (which was dubbed in Hindi for theatres), that a dub was not seemingly connected to Cartoon Network.
The question is, assuming Cartoon Network India picks up Dragon Ball Daima (which seems likely considering how much content they’ve licensed in recent years) would they license dubs from another company?
A hypothetical Cartoon Network India airing would also likely include Malayalam and Kannada feeds (as all Dragon Ball content they’ve licensed since Kai have included these audios).
At any rate Dragon Ball seems to be the gift that keeps on giving in India these days.
As was the case last week, TV schedules for tomorrow on Cartoon Network India show no signs of the previously announced premier of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods.
Once again Bandbudh Aur Budbak will be airing at 11:30am followed by original Dragon Ball from 1:30pm-4pm.
Episodes 34-38 of Dragon Ball were broadcast last week, so this week episodes 39-43 should be expected.
This will be disappointing news, not only for Indian fans that may have wanted a local release of Battle of Gods since 2013, but also for anyone that wanted a Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam or Kannada dub.
Suffice to say original Dragon Ball will continue to be aired with all five languages tracks.
Following on from the conclusion of the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai arc last Sunday, Cartoon Network India is set to begin airing the Red Ribbon Army arc.
As was the case with the previous arc the channel is marketing it as a “new season” in its latest promo.
Showcasing some punches and kicks from Goku, and one scene where a wall smashes Cartoon Network is highlighting the escalating action in this story arc.
According to this promo the new arc is set to begin tomorrow at 2pm, although current schedules suggest a 1:30pm start time.
As such it is possible from 1:30-2pm episode 28, which aired last Sunday will be rerun followed by episode 29.
Similarly episode 13 premiered with the new Indian dubs on September 8th and was rerun on September 15th followed by episodes 14-18.
So we can probably expect episodes 28-33 to air tomorrow with the new Hindi dubs, and first known dubs of original Dragon Ball in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
There may be less episodes next week with Battle of Gods set to premier for the first time in India, but original Dragon Ball is evidently doing well as weekday timeslots have been added, likely for reruns, which inspires a lot of confidence in its continued success.
