Doc Harris

The man known as the first North American voice for the narrator on Funimation’s dub of Dragon Ball Z Doc Harris sadly passed away on October 5, 2024.

Harris played this role throughout Funimation’s first dub of Dragon Ball Z episodes 1-53 (edited numbering), movies 1-3 as dubbed by Pioneer as well as Ocean Studios and Westwood Media’s dub for episodes 108-276 (also edited numbering).

It is not known whether or not Doc Harris reprised his role for Ocean Studios dub of Dragon Ball Kai however.

Harris was not only known for his other roles on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Monster Rancher, Mobile Suit Gundam, Encounters in Space and many more shows, but he also had a successful career in broadcasting since 1966 when he made his debut as “Gil Harris” for his shows at CKDA and CFMS-FM Victoria.
