Yesterday (June 19th) LostTimeLord reported on the Kanzenshuu forums that the episodes of Dragon Ball Kai previously omitted from Disney+ in the UK have been added to the platform.
The two Dragon Ball Super movies, titled Broly and Super Hero were also added on the same day.
The Dragon Ball Super TV series was also added to Disney+ soon after Kai, so there is a lot of Dragon Ball content on the service for fans to enjoy.
The UK is now following in the footsteps of Canada with the release of Dragon Ball Kai on Disney+.
As of today the first 2 seasons are available to stream on the platform with English dub option and the Japanese credits for the OP and ED.
Unsurprisingly it is the Funimation dub that has been added, and not the never released Ocean dub.
This is not the first time Dragon Ball Kai has been on a streaming service in the UK, as it was previously added to Crunchyroll.
The series also aired on Kix between 2012 and 2015, and was released on DVD and Blu-Ray by Manga UK in 2015, albeit with the original Kenji Yamamoto score on the DVDs for episodes 1-13 and 27-39 and episodes 1-39 on the Blu-Rays.
Every other release of Dragon Ball Kai in the UK has used the replacement Shunsuke Kikuchi score due to the plagiarism scandal that occurred in 2011.
TV schedules this week are listing Dragon Ball GT as airing on Junior TV in Israel, the same channel that aired Dragon Ball Super, and more recently Dragon Ball Kai, both of which are still on the air.

Previously it was announced that Dragon Ball Kai would be coming to Disney+ in Canada.
Yesterday was the day that the series finally landed on the platform.
A source has confirmed however that Disney+ did not receive the Canadian dub from Ocean Studios, but instead the Funimation dub has been released on the popular streaming service.
Nonetheless some fans remain committed to this dub one day seeing the light of day, as there is a petition that was started to show interest in the product.
Earlier this week TOEI Animation announced that the original 1986 Dragon Ball series was streaming on Hulu with an English dub option.
This is not the first time the show was available on the platform, as it was removed in February of this year but expected to return.
Whether the series was removed for work to be done on this HD upscale remains to be seen.
Other Dragon Ball series available on Hulu include Dragon Ball Kai, Dragon Ball Daima and Dragon Ball Super. Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT are no longer available.
According to current schedules on November 13th (Thursday this week) Dragon Ball Kai episode 98 will air on Junior TV in Isreal followed by episode 1. The two episodes will be broadcast at 4:44pm and 5:06pm respectively.
Dragon Ball Super’s 6-year run on UK TV should be coming to an end soon, as it has been announced Narrative Entertainment will be shutting down their linear channels and app next month.
Narrative Entertainment MD Paul Dunthorne commented:
“With commercial value across the UK kids’ TV market now just 4% of what it was 10 years ago, we’ve taken the decision to close our linear Pop channel at the end of the year. We understand the importance of offering high-quality kids’ TV, and we’ve done everything that we can to maintain Pop. But free-to-air channels for this audience are simply not commercially viable without public service broadcaster-style funding.
“We will retain our Pop presence on FAST channels in the UK on Freeview, Samsung, LG and other platforms, and internationally, as these continue to offer commercial opportunities.”
Pop was previously owned by Sony Pictures Television before they sold their UK TV portfolio to Narrative Entertainment in 2021.
Dragon Ball Super’s premier on Pop in 2019 marked the series debut on free TV, which became the only such free-to-air (FTA) commercial kids’ broadcaster after the closure of ITV’s CITV in 2023.
Sister channel Pop Max (which also aired Dragon Ball Super) left Freeview and Sky in December of last year, and January this year respectively. Their content was moved to Pop and Pop Player.
As it stands Dragon Ball Super remains on Pop from 7pm-8pm and 1:50am-2:38am every night. Whether it will be run until Pop’s last day broadcasting remains to be seen.
As Dragon Ball Super has lasted 6 years on Pop (although the channel removed it from their schedule at times) it is the instalment of the franchise which has been on UK TV for the longest.
Dragon Ball Z aired between 2000 and 2002 on Cartoon Network, 2002-2003 on CNX and 2003-2005 on Toonami, Dragon Ball GT ran on CNX and Toonami for the same years while original Dragon Ball only aired on Toonami and Dragon Ball Kai was shown on Kix between 2012 and 2015.
It is likely Dragon Ball Super lasted as long as it has on Pop because of sponsorship deals with Bandai Namco and toy retailer chain Smyths.
While the future of Dragon Ball on linear TV remains uncertain, although the series is still available on Crunchyroll, BBC iPlayer and home video releases from Manga UK and Crunchyroll.
Dragon Ball content continues to arrive on streaming platforms in India.
The show is available in English as well as native languages Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
This is neither the first time these episodes have been available in India, nor the first time the five local dubs were released as they premiered on Cartoon Network India in June 2023.
Cartoon Network India and Discovery+ are both owned by Warner Brothers Discovery, so its not surprise they would be sharing assets.
For fans that want the original show with filler the corresponding episodes of Dragon Ball Z (branded as “Season 5”) are coming to Netflix on November 15th, although that will only be available in Japanese with English subtitles.
Selecta Vision has recently posted about their upcoming Dragon Ball Kai Blu-Ray DVD and Blu-Ray boxsets on Twitter/X.
This new volume, which contains episodes 55-76 with dubs in Spanish, Catalan, Galician and Basque will be released on October 3rd.
Considering the number of episodes per box set the next volume after this should be the final release for the first 98 episodes of Kai before Selecta Vision move on to The Final Chapters, which fans can check out on streaming platform Anime Box, or on Comedy Central from September 15th at 2pm.
Recently Dragon Ball Kai premiered for the first time in Israel with a new Hebrew dub.
Since the show’s debut on April 14th a total of 14 episodes have aired on Junior TV.
Now these 14 episodes are available on the streaming site Yes, which is the largest company in Israel that brings content to consumers through the internet.
Based on previous schedules Junior TV appears to be airing 4 new episodes a week. As such episodes 13-16 of Dragon Ball Kai should be airing this week.
