It has been revealed that Michael Donovan, known for his role as Roshi in Funimation’s 1995 English dub of Dragon Ball (known by fans as the “BLT dub”) passed away on March 4th this year.
Fellow Canadian voice actor Ian James Corlett took to Instagram to pay his tributes to the late star, who was also a director at the aforementioned dub, which was recorded at Dick & Rodgers Studio.
The news came in the summer issue of 2026 SAG-AFTRA’s quarterly magazine.
The actor was 72 and due to turn 73 on June 12th.
