  • Dragon Ball Daima to air on Toonami US

It is official, in a return to tradition Dragon Ball Daima is set to air on linear TV in the United States.

According to a recent social media post the new Dragon Ball anime will begin airing on June 14th at 12:30am on Adult Swim’s Toonami block.

Dragon Ball has long been associated with Toonami in the United States ever since it first broadcast Dragon Ball Z in 1998 with the last two TV anime Dragon Ball Kai and Dragon Ball Super both airing on the block.

As expected the timeslot is longer than normal to cover the extended first episode, but as the series goes on it is likely Toonami will dedicate half an hour to the remaining episodes like the other shows in their lineup.

Unlike in the late 90s and 2000s all Dragon Ball content aired on Toonami in the US has been uncut, so there will almost certainly be no time cuts or other edits.

This will mark the first time a traditional TV channel broadcasts the English dub of Dragon Ball Daima.

  • Latin American dub of Dragon Ball Daima coming

Latin American fans waiting for a local dub of Dragon Ball Daima may not have much longer to wait.

A Paraguayan Youtuber has broke the news and Richard Brust revealed in a podcast that a dub is coming.

News about a release date has yet to be confirmed, although Adult Swim Latin America has teased that the series may be coming so don’t be surprised if that’s where the series will drop.

With Warner Channel’s Wanimé block coming to an end its looking like Adult Swim is going to become the home for Dragon Ball on traditional TV in Latin America, just as it has in North America for the last 10 years.

  • Adult Swim Latin America teases Dragon Ball Daima

Adult Swim Latin America has recently tweeted about Dragon Ball Daima.

The above can be translated as “If there’s a dog, there’s a like. #AdultSwim in the house”, so while it’s not confirmation it does lend credibility to Dragon Ball Daima coming to their channel.

Although it is not listed for January schedules it has been reported Adult Swim will be airing a programme listed under the pseudonym ” AS PREMIERE”.

If “AS PREMIERE” is the premiere of Dragon Ball Daima , fans can expect it on Monday, January 20 at 21:09 ARG-CHI | 19:09 COL-PER.

It should be noted it is not known whether a Latin American Spanish or Portuguese dub is in production. There were reports that Daniel Castañeda (TOEI’s licensing director for the region) said in an interview with Produ “We go into dubbing for worldwide release in October 2024″ but the original source is no longer live and we are not aware of Daniel Castañeda commenting on it since.

As was the case when Stephanie Nadolny reprising her role as Goku in the English dub this could be another case of where there’s smoke there’s fire.

Nonetheless Dragon Ball has always been a monstrous success in Latin America so undoubtedly the arrival of Akira Toriyama’s final work to traditional TV will be highly anticipated should this be indeed confirmed.
